Ambitious College wins Haringey Community Impact Award

The Community Impact Awards are run by the Bridge Renewal Trust and are awarded to grassroots community groups and voluntary organisations that have combined effective community service with innovative and sustainable practices to improve the lives of Haringey residents.

Ambitious College won the award for Voluntary and Community Sector Newcomer, 2016.

The announcement was made during the presentation ceremony at the Voluntary and Community Sector Expo event on Friday 25 November 2016.

Vivienne Berkeley, Principal of The Pears Campus at Ambitious College, said:

“It is fantastic that Ambitious College and its work with young people with autism has been recognised by the Haringey Community Impact Awards 2016.

“Since we opened in July 2016, we have worked very hard to build links across Haringey and indeed seven students come from the borough. We have been made to feel most welcome by local businesses and other voluntary sector organisations and already we feel very much part of the community. These relationships have enabled us to create opportunities for our learners so they can go out into the community and learn, thrive and achieve.”
